knocking on my door!

Desperation... Desperation, what more could
you possibly have in store?!

How is it that you do not wish to let me be,
when all I long for is to be free?!

You manipulate, laugh, and cajole,
attempting to enslave my soul;
You have deceived since times of ol',
taking lives as your toll.

Desperation... Desperation, please just stay away -
Go knock on someone else's door -
For it is getting harder to keep you at bay.
