BLESSED KNOWING
by: Anthony T. Mixon

Who said that truth is all around us all I saw was deception
Robbed of my innocence by ignorance and transgression
Hoping that experience is my guide to destiny... patiently
I lay waiting for the truth to confess to me
There has to be more than what my eyes can see
Turmoil at ever corner lacking the ability to live consciously
I'm tired of chasing the wind and taking time for granted
The written word is a free ticket away from this planet
Spiritually handicap due to the veil covering my eyes
Until I turned my focus inward, found that truth is inside
The Awakening of my soul began to enrich my life
Heightened my perspective now a greater view is insight
"If I'd only known" as I reflect on the past
Still working through drama created while thinking rash
