"Comforting Sleep"
by: Jon Michael Malonee'

Look into my eyes and you won't see
the raging demons within me
Charismatic and intelligent, I hide it well
But I'm a demon inside, bound for hell
It's all in there, hidden behind my face
But when I go to sleep, it's all erased
My demons are gone, mind clear in slumbering bliss
In my dreams we meet and share a kiss
Such a simple pleasure that brings such warmth inside
It make me realize I have nothing to hide
You may or may not know, either way, you won't care
As long as it's me behind the eyes in which you stare
You may not grasp my mentality, but you're in my open heart
Suddenly it doesn't seem we're quite so far apart
When I awake, things won't change much
My heart will still be warm from your soft touch
Though you may be gone, the warmth won't go away
The warmth keeps me sane and is here to stay
I'll go through the motions of today and my demons will sin
But tonight I will sleep and we'll be together again.
