Together
by: Trevers Jackson

We can construct it.

We can rule the universe.

Together and we are very powerful words. Words used to describe a partnership of like minds, a oneness of thought and action, a collaboration of single purpose.

We enter such partnerships in the realms of marriage and business. We enter these unions with the same amount of passion and emotion. We do so with the full intention of bring into existence something unique. In marriage it is a child, in business it is a product or service.

We find in the other something that we enjoy in ourselves or something that we consider missing from our own personal makeup. Something that would complete us. Something that makes each of us more structured.

Each day we go through a detailed set of questions when we encounter others. Would they make a unique partner? Do they have the ability to join us in a "we" statement? Are they someone we would consider enjoying an activity with "together?"

We sometimes find that in our relationships, the individual partners grow in different directions. We must continue to evaluate daily the need for the partnership. Is there still a unique offering? Is there still a product or service that benefits from said growth?

Growth is not unique to these relationships and should not be considered a hazard. Growth is something we look forward to, something we should enjoy, something we should celebrate. Integrity is key. Allowance is justifiable when that growth aids the product of the partnership.

We must always be growing, we must always be evaluating, we must always be building our chosen relationships to make them stronger. The stronger they are, the stronger we become.

There will always be others attempting to interfere with successful partnerships, pulling at the foundation and seeking entry into its formulated structure. Some will bend, some will falter, some will crush under the added weight. Some, like those we can build a lifetime in, will ward of the intrusion and grow stronger.

I choose to grow strong in business, grow old in marriage and live a strong and rewarding existence.

Jef.
