In Our Time
by: Corey Davoll Holmes

Place me at the foot of a dynasty and I shall crown you eternally part of me. I no longer pray for the heavens to show me a sign for you are the remedy to all pain. Silk sheets shall be presented to you so that you may rest in total ecstasy. We can stroll through a garden with ancient trees producing fruit and roses that bloom year round. The aroma floating upon the breeze in a swirl of red, blues, and purple.

Under the shade of a tree we can share our emotions. Possibly I would start off by placing my lips on the loaves of your ears and I would whisper that the birds sing of your infinite beauty because in the flecks of your eyes is a realm of pure paradise. Even the creatures of nature, as small as a bird recognize what it is I speak of. True peace can be found in our own land, in our own time.

I wish that I knew the proper notes to the musical instruments known as a flute. I would play a tune sweet to the soul. If you would permit me to be a bit poetic. Let me take you back to the days of Renaissance when romance was at its peak, flowing endlessly in perfect harmony along side true devotion.

That is our time. That's where we shall go.
