Silent Tears
by: Andrew Green, Jr.
Tears unseen yet they persistently fall
Heart shattered in pieces from life's folderol.
A facade effervescent to conceal my anguish
Not wanting to reveal that my heart's been vanquished.
Full of despair, due to my loneliness
But there's no one who cares, despite my comeliness
Reaching out for affection from one who endears
But until that connection - Silent Tears
In search of a love without any conditions
And one who'll accept my current disposition
Confinement of my liberty, yet my heart is free
For I refuse to constrain the best part of me.
Despite the fact that my fire is extinguished
My request for affection I will never relinquish
An endless search. I will constantly seer
And until I find you - Silent Tears
Perhaps one will reignite the flame within
And, hopefully, in time my heart will mend
Maybe there's someone who's just as lonely
In search of affection and lifetime crony
I anticipate the most authentic reply
From one who'll alleviate my internal cry
I'll reciprocate genuineness, despite my fears
Until I hear from you - Silent Tears
