Truth Be Told
by: Billy R. Beasley
A twisted dream a lonely thought
Only happiness cannot be bought
Born from pain and undying love
To live out life until we go above
Some might grow old and die at night
Others at their prime still filled with light
We try our best but no avail
Time after time we continue to fail
Making the most of what we got
Whether our moments come or not
The love of another and honest friends
Know what's real with every bend
Would it matter if Earth and time stood still
To have everything and never become ill
I doubt so with life's trials and tribulations
That barely leaves time for fun and relations
We can play all we want at life's endless game
Gaining knowledge but barely knowing our name
It's amazing how much one person can be
A son, sister, a mother, my friend can't you see
Each time we lust for what we want
We destroy what we got for what we can't
Our time could be long or it could be short
Not knowing who will submit to life's ultimate abort
Materials and money is fine for a time
But friends and family don't ever shine
Cause you'll never know how much you'll need
Until it's gone forever without any heed.
