Having spent my adult life inside, I'm yet to enjoy the privilege of an inmate, caring relationship. This missing chapter in my life has often fueled a constant struggle to get up and face another day. Only now, through education and spiritual growth, have I identified the 'missing link' in my search for fulfillment as the need for sincere companionship.

I've been in prison 26 years, from 18 to 44. Reared in Los Angeles by my mother, and early indoctrinated into the street life, made incarceration all but inevitable. But my future is not imprisoned; I am not without hope. Presently, I am working towards my AA degree. I've also recently completed a yet-to-be-published autobiography. Though imprisoned, my dream to be a writer is not beyond my reach. On June 20, 2008, I submitted a petition to CA Governor for Commutation of my sentence, or Pardon. My hope is that the God who transformed my life will grant my petition through the Governor's favorable response.

Until then, I enjoy reading, writing, fusion and New Age music, philosophic contemplation, and stimulating conversation. I am ever on the look out for ways to transcend, combat the
ever-present 'lull of depression', and realize the inherent worth of a life well lived, even inhere.

Given the highly competitive and voluminous assortment of people seeking Pen Pals, what do you think is the most important quality of a potential correspondent? Do you seek similar relationships to those in your past, or are you looking to discover something richer, more meaningful and soul satisfying? I'm not saying I'm necessarily the one, but I do promise an interesting, enjoyable, and worth-the-effort investment of your time. For me, the greater part of friendship is not in what I can gain, but in what I have to give. What is the fire in your passion?

No games. No disappointments. No nonsense; just a real man seeking real companionship. Life is too short, and the fruit of friendship too rewarding, to miss out on making contact with someone in whose life we're meant to share.

I know you're out there...

Sincerely,
-Earl
